Signs up dates will be determined on a first come first serve basis. If a new project would prefer to have monitoring done earlier in the year, they may take an 'old' sites' slot. If a time here simply does not work, contact VTDOE to discuss alternatives.
--- VT21C Site Visit Schedule 2009-2010
We are scheduling 13 site visits as part of the VT21C monitoring and site improvement process. One of the strongest points about our site monitoring process here in Vermont is that it is based on the active participation, observation, and feedback of directors and practitioners in the field. All directors and experienced site coordinators are invited to join, as are others as space allows. (Each year we also strongly encourage new directors to attend at least one site visit. It’s a great way to learn a lot in a short period of time and to get fresh perspective on your own program.)
If you’d like to join a team for any of these visits, please sign up for the visit(s) of your choice on the Wiki at http://vermontafterschool.pbworks.com/monitoring%20sign%20up (If you have trouble using the Wiki but would still like to sign up, just email me with the visit(s) you want to do and I’ll add you to the list.)
Visiting team members are asked to prepare for the visit by reading through materials submitted beforehand by the program (usually 1-2 hours of prep), participate in the site visit and on-site feedback, and review/approve the final report back to the program. I’ll compile people’s comments and write the report, but will ask team members to review/edit/approve.
If you haven’t been on a site visit before, I think you’ll really enjoy the process. It is always informative and a great way to learn and see new approaches to afterschool.
