Vermont State Science and Math Fair this Saturday, April 2 at Norwich University from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m:

You will see a wide variety of science projects in all areas of research.  Energy, Life Sciences, Engineering Design, and many other topics are covered by students who select the topic entirely themselves, and work with their science teachers and other mentors to do world-class research and discovery.

Students present their projects with an amazing level of passion, and many of them take home an award and some cash for their efforts.  The winners of the fair go on to a larger venues, like the Intel International Science Fair in Los Angles and the International Sustainable World fair in Houston.   It really is a great story of Vermont innovation that competes very well on the international stage!

This year we have over 200 students from across the state, over 100 judges from local universities and companies, and over $1M in awards and scholarships available to Vermont students.  Another aspect of the story is all the volunteer judges and staff that make it happen.  They are all equally excited about their contribution, and it shows at the fair.

  • Congrats to the Arlington Program that received $25,000 through the school budget in just their second year! And also to Brattleboro BAMS that just received $22,500.  Well done!

to meet with state legislators and leaders to advance learning and policy around afterschool and expanded learning in Vermont. This is also a day to celebrate the important role that youth workers, afterschool providers, and program staff play in helping to build a strong foundation for the children and youth of Vermont.
