21c Funding Update: Next year's funding appropriation in the omnibus bill currently about to be passed would have a limited across the board spending cut nationally of about 2 million dollars of a 1.1 billion dollar program. This means there would be little if any effect on programs in Vermont and is good news.
If anyone would like more 2012 student ambassador pins, let Emanuel know, there are some extras. Here is an example of some ambassadors who spoke about their programs on a recent site visit-what a nice way for outsiders to learn about your program. Have you done this for community members?
http://y4y.ed.gov/ This rich website was recently released by USDOE and has 30 minute course modules that can be taken anytime. It seems really well designed and programs in other states including NH have reported it to be valuable. In particular the model lends itself to some self directed staff training.
