Statewide Evaluation Task Force

Task: Please read VTs Evaluation and one of the other’s if you have time. Please post on the agenda and notes page at least one idea of what you think can make Vermont’s evaluation system better and post one idea of what in the current system is working well and why.
Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Grant
Deadline: February 14, 2014
The Lowe's Foundation is accepting applications for its Toolbox for Education Grant program. The purpose of this funding is to support school improvement projects at K-12 public schools in the United States. Projects that encourage parent involvement and build stronger community spirit are encouraged. To learn more and apply, click here.
Year of the Book Grant:
Deadline: February 15, 2014
The Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) announces it is accepting applications for its Year of the Book grant through CLiF provides select elementary schools in New Hampshire and Vermont with more than $25,000 worth of children’s literacy programs, support, and brand-new books over the course of one school year. Every student who participates in a CLiF Year of the Book will have the opportunity to choose up to 10 brand-new books to keep from hundreds of high-quality titles. Schools can apply here.
Champions for Healthy Kids Grant
Deadline: March 15, 2014
The General Mills Foundation, in collaboration with the American Dietetic Association Foundation and the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, is accepting applications for its Champions for Healthy Kids grant program. The purpose of the program is to support sustainable, effective programs working to improve nutrition and physical fitness behaviors for youth. To learn more and apply, click here.
